Secuware Security Framework 4.0 Ships
Flexible Security Site Delivers Closed Circuits for Information to Protect Against Data Leaks, Block Malware, and Ensure Application Stability

San Francisco, CA – February 5, 2007 - Secuware, a leading provider of Windows® enterprise security infrastructure, today announced the availability of Secuware Security Framework (SSF) 4.0. This latest version of the company’s 360-degree security solution ensures the stability, security and manageability of Windows networks by permitting only authorized individuals using authorized applications on authorized devices to access authorized data.

SSF Version 4.0 provides a flexible architecture that allows enterprises to extend the scope of protection as they evolve. SSF comprises four integrated modules that control access to information, access to devices, and integrity of executables, and deliver event logs and audit trails. Enterprises can select those controls that are required today, knowing that they can easily add others as their systems and user behaviors change.

“Data protection is not just a 'lost laptop' problem. Organizations need a data protection solution that covers a range of devices, applications, hard drives and network folders with a single, consistent approach to setting policy” said Neil MacDonald, Vice President and Distinguished Analyst, Information Security, Privacy and Risk, Gartner. “Rather than reinventing policy management systems and creating yet another management console, leading data protection solutions will integrate with existing policy information stores and other LDAP-enabled directories.”

We hear every day about data security breaches caused by thefts of laptops and unauthorized use of information According to a report released in October 2006 by the House Government Reform Committee, only a small number of these breaches were caused by hackers breaking into computer systems; most stemmed from the theft of laptops, drives and removable media, as well as unauthorized use of the information by employees, the report said.

“Since we installed the Secuware Security Framework, we can be sure that the information stored in our computers cannot be intercepted. Now we can offer a watertight guarantee to our clients that there will be no information leaks,” stated Luis Valente, Regional Infrastructure and Security Administrator for Warner Bros Mexico.

SSF offers a robust, stable solution through:

  • Applying 256-bit encryption to all designated data, applications, and devices
  • Tight integration with Windows, directly updating the Active Directory schema
  • Preventing users from connecting to unauthorized hardware devices such as USB drives
  • Limiting the action that may be taken with protected information, such as screen capture or hard-copy printing
  • Logging of system security events to maintain an audit trail for compliance reporting
  • Strengthening internal security by separating IT and information security controls
“With the threat of malware and stolen devices, every organization must take steps to protect the integrity of the information stored on desktops, laptops, and other devices while blocking unauthorized access to local and network resources,” stated Feliciano Rivera, EVP and General Manager of Secuware, North America. “Secuware is committed to meeting the needs of North American customers with the same highly-scalable and adaptable solution that has been delivering increased security, stability, and system confidence to organizations in Europe and Latin America since 1999.”

Secuware Security Framework v4.0 is available now direct from Secuware and through select VARs. Site license pricing starts at $99 per user for the Crypt2000 client encryption, $149 per user for enterprise-level encryption, and $229 per user for the complete framework. A simple upgrade path is available between all SSF modules. Free 30-day evaluation software is available on request.
