Secuware Wins 2007 Tomorrow’s Technology Today Award From Info Security Products Guide
Secuware Security Framework Selected a Winner in Integrated Security Software Category

Sunnyvale, California, August 15, 2007 – Secuware, a leading provider of advanced data protection solutions, announced today that Info Security Products Guide, a Silicon Valley Communications publication, has named the company’s Secuware Security Framework (SSF) a winner in the 2007 “Tomorrow’s Technology Today Awards”. This prestigious award recognizes security vendors with advanced network security solutions that are helping to set the bar higher for all areas of information security. Secuware Security Framework was selected by the editors of Info Security Products Guide from submissions of information security solutions judged to be making the most positive impact on security today

“This award is yet another indication that Secuware’s technology is being welcomed by enterprises in North America,” says Executive Vice President and General Manager Feliciano Rivera. “Secuware has won many awards in its native Europe, and we are delighted with the progress we are making in bringing SSF’s many benefits to North American corporations.”

Secuware based its entry submission around its ground-breaking white paper, “Closed Circuits for Information: 360° Data Protection for the Enterprise”. The paper describes a data-centric approach to media and file encryption that enforces data privacy and access controls. Additional controls allow system access only to authorized USB and Firewire devices. Application control limits user access to a predetermined list of approved programs. As a side benefit, application control delivers an additional layer of defense against viruses, Trojan Horses and other malware by preventing the accidental or deliberate activation of unapproved executables. Application control also contributes significantly to system stability, as users’ systems always have known, tested application configurations.

This combination of controls create Closed Circuits for Information – zones of security that protect corporate data in much the same way that a CCTV system displays images only in a restricted area. The resulting tight integration with Windows results in a “secure operating system” that protects data from the boot process onwards. “Companies that have been honored with the prestigious 2007 Tomorrow’s Technology Today award have each made deep-rooted commitment to solving security issues,” says Rake Narang, editor-in-chief, Info Security Products Guide. “Probably nothing differentiates a product or solution more than the superior technologies that make them suitable for today’s needs while pro-actively preparing for tomorrow.”
